I am so excited about the newest Mouse House Creations pattern release! It had been a while since I have designed a fast sew and The Janie Dress and Peplum pattern was the answer. Now available in the shop and is on sale for $7.00 until Friday! Find the pattern HERE.
The Janie Dress and Peplum is an extremely versatile pattern sized 6 months to 12 years.
The Janie comes with the options of short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, or long sleeves. The skirt can be a regular circle skirt, a gathered circle skirt, or a peplum. Wovens can be used for the gathered circle skirt option. The necklines include a basic neckline, a cowl, a ballet scoop back, and a peter pan collar.
As always, notches and grainlines will help you along the way. Just like my other patterns, I included detailed step-by-step photographs for each step.
I truly think this is going to be one of the only knit dresses you will need for many occasions!
The scoop back version is so sweet and feminine.
The peter pan can be added to either the basic neckline or the scoop back neckline. I always love a good peter pan collar.
The cowl neck version is perfect for the upcoming cold weather in the upper hemisphere.
The gathered circle skirt is full, but still gives that twirl like a regular circle skirt.
The peter pan collar looks great with lace, too!
As soon as the girls put this dress on, they will be testing the twirl factor.
Thanks so much to allll of my amazing testers. They made SO many versions and I wanted to include them all in collage format. Thanks guys!
Because the peplum version came a bit late into testing, not many were able to try it out, so I had to share this one made by Creative Needle and Threads. So sweet with a simple pair of leggings.
I hope you enjoy the newest Mouse House Creations pattern. As always, feel free to share on social media. My facebook page is Mouse House Creations, the private facebook group is Mouse House Creations Group ‘O Fun (request to join), and Instagram is @Welcometothemousehouse. I will be using the hashtags #thejaniedress and #mousehousecreations to spot some of my favorites!
Many thanks to the testers. I have compiled a list of the testers that provided me with their social media!

Hi, I just love this pattern. I bought it yesterday and have it all taped together. What I would like to know is if there are directions for sewing this pattern. Did I miss something in the download? Please let me know as I am dying to make this twirly skirt for my granddaughter 🙂
Thank you!
