It is finally back to school time (my kid go back late!) and I knew I wanted to make Ainsley something super cute and comfy to wear for her first day as a real kindergartener! I can’t believe she is finally at the big kid school AND she turns 6 years old tomorrow. Time flies 🙂
The AMAZING Lillestoff company contacted me a few months back asking if I would like to try some of their knits. Of course, I replied with a very fast “yes” and I chose a few (the other knits will be shown soon!) from their incredible collection. You seriously must go check out their website, which they recently designed specifically for American readers, as it is usually in German. Their fabrics are so high quality and most importantly, super unique and fun! There are many choices, including more subtle stripes and prints for women’s clothing. I hope to make my Julia Cardigan soon with some of their striped knits.
First thing I noticed when I opened up their package was how soft and thick the knits were. These are not your typical knits that you find at the big chain stores. The colors are so vibrant and I couldn’t wait to create. I made Ainsley this adorable dress using the free Izzy Top pattern, but lengthened it to a dress length. The fabrics use for this are the Retro Flower Dream (which I still have more of so I plan to make leggings) and the Red Jersey, BOTH are certified organic. How cute is this dress?
I took Ainsley to the school playground for some Back to School photos and she certainly enjoyed it! And she absolutely loved her new comfortable dress. Perfect for playing.
She loved the dress so much, she decided to definitely wear it on the first day of school as a big kindergartener. I hope everyone else is enjoying school as much as these two! And thanks to Lillestoff for letting me try your amazing fabrics. I will be posting about the others soon!
