Today, I get to show off my Matinee Dress that I sewed up for my friend Jenn’s pattern tour! Jenn blogs over at A Jennuine Life and has recently started creating patterns for her Jennuine Design collection. The Matinee Dress is now available!
I used my much loved Anna Maria Horner voile for this dress, which must mean that I totally trusted that this pattern would be awesome, right?
The back of this dress is the total show stopper. The strap is supposed to go around the front of the dress, but I didn’t want to take away from such a beautiful fabric. Instead, I created a large bow for the back, which is attached with hidden snaps. I think it goes perfectly!
The front of this dress is simple and sweet with a drop waist. I modified it a bit by shortening the skirt about 2-3 inches and also adding fabric to get it a bit more gathered. (personal preference!)
I can always tell when Ainsley loves a dress because she gets the biggest smile on her face and that makes me so happy!
Thanks for having me, Jenn!
