I am so excited to be a part of the Titchy Threads Small Fry Skinny Jeans tour. Laura of Craftstorming is a good friend of mine and she really knows how to make an excellent, professional pattern and these jeans are no exception. Get your own pattern for 20% off with the code TOUR20. Sweet!
I purchased the stretch denim from Joann Fabrics and added cute little heart appliques on the back pockets using and old knit tshirt. To tie it all together, I figured, why not make a quick peasant style top to match?
These jeans are worth every second they take to make. They have amazing flat felled seams, belt loops, adjustable waist band, and lots of topstitching that gives it that store bought feel (I didn’t use real topstitching thread… don’t tell Laura).
In all seriousness, the pattern is one of the most well drafted patterns I have used with very detailed instructions. It shows you how to do a full zip fly in a perfect way. (but you can choose to do a half fly like I did)
I made these in a size 5 knowing that Ainsley will have room to grow. I am really trying to not make her clothes for right now because she has a full (like seriously full) closet at the moment.
Because I wanted to get a long life out of these, I made them long and then added my own little twist with a button tab. She can wear them rolled up for a little while and then once she is taller, we can remove that feature. Team that up with the adjustable waistband, she will get a ton of use out of these.
Look at this cuteness!
And please admire all of those flat felled seams and topstitching.
Ainsley insisted on having a photo of Custard, her new kitty purse.
Hello, Custard.
Ainsley is super stoked for her new pants.
I am super stoked at how well these went together and how professional they end up. Laura is awesome.
Thanks for having me Laura! Don’t forget to check out all of the other amazing jeans on the tour. Seriously, you need to buy the pattern while it is on sale. It is one of those staples that everyone needs!
