Last week’s challenge, was Ruffles.
Did any of you guess that mine was The Ruffled Mermaid??
It came in a very very close second place this week!
Go check out the results to see all of other the awesome projects.
I used this week as practice for Ainsley’s birthday party in September. She has been really obsessed with mermaids lately, so of course, she wants a mermaid birthday party.
I made an ombre ruffle cake, which really needs more practice.
And then I made her a ruffle mermaid dress!
(tutorial will come soon)
Thanks to everyone that voted!
Next week’s theme is Summer… come back to see what we all submitted!

I so wish I could make a cake like that. I was just telling one of my friends about the ruffle cakes earlier this evening. I love her outfit! If my daughters saw it they would be begging for one. I love that you mentioned ruffles chips in your project details on SYTYc. My husband and I thought it would be so cool if someone used ruffles bags to make something but we couldn’t come up with anything.
aww thanks! I am still (obviously) working on perfecting the ruffle cake technique, but hopefully I will get it right soon!
I have to tell you, I was so close to making a ruffle mermaid tail for this round! That would have been so funny if I did!
omg how funny would that have been!!! And is your daughter mermaid obsessed too?
