Ready for a post that is completely out of my comfort zone?
Let’s just say that I am not exactly a fashion diva or a makeup whiz, and most definitely not a hair artist. It is a lucky day when I brush my hair before getting ready for the day!
So, when Blog Her wanted me to watch some hair tutorial videos, I was totally on board! Now that my kids are getting older, it is time for me to start caring for myself again.
Ready for it?
Here I go… out of my comfort zone!
This was my first attempt at curling my hair and trying to style it, but this video helped me along the way.
Check it out because the girl in it is so super cute and she has a ton of other video tutorials that I plan to watch in the future!
Watch the video and you can enter for your chance to WIN! Each week, we’re giving away prizes to 3 lucky winners: one grand prize viewer will receive a $250 Visa gift card and two more folks will each receive a $100 Visa gift card! Looking good is its own reward, of course, but this is even better! To see the official rules, click here.
Like I said, I am not exactly sure how to style my hair or even what tools to use! My hair is very straight, thick, and doesn’t curl very easily.
(I do realize that I need a haircut soon:)
Basically, my hair is blah and I never know what to do with it.
I went out and bought a curling iron, some hair products, and I got to work…. I wasn’t quite sure how to even use the curler.
However, after a few tries, I was super proud when I finally managed to get a curl!
I kept on trucking, and I finally managed to get a head full of somewhat-curls. Not quite what it was supposed to look like, but I tried, so I give myself props 😉
I am going to keep trying… practice makes perfect, right?
Sure, I won’t be doing my hair and makeup everyday, but it would be nice to start doing it more often.
Do you have a favorite style? Do you take time for yourself?
Make sure you watch the hair tutorial I shared above and enter the sweepstakes at the end of the video! Good luck!

LOVED the tutorial and I think I am ging to try it out. You look great by the way, before and after.;)
I love it! I curl my hair quite a bit to tame the frizz and kinks I get over night. I only spend about five minutes so it doesn’t look quite as good as yours, but it’s better than my scary morning hair.
Pretty! Not easy taking pics in the process either!
You look gorgeous both ways! I can see where Ainsley gets her “photogenic-ness” from! 😀
Love seeing a “home makeover” Hayley edition! Great job, great new look!
The pics of you trying to figure out the curling iron crack me up 🙂 I’ve been trying to take a little more “me” time lately, it’s nice to feel cute.
Cute! You remind me of Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars).
Looks great! You look very pretty.
