I have had the pleasure of knowing Sarah for quite a while now and she never ceases to amaze me with her crafty abilities. Thanks for posting your video tutorial over here today!

Hi everyone! This is Sarah from Spicy Pinecone. I’m so excited to be posting on The Mouse House blog today! Thanks, Hayley!
I thought that in honor of Valentine’s Day, I’d do a little polymer clay “how-to”. A few months ago, I made a rainbow dress with custom polymer buttons and had a few inquiries on how I did it and what the best way to make buttons was. I don’t know the BEST way, per se, but I know my way and, thus far, it’s proven to be pretty durable. Durable is a “plus”… especially with four kids.
Rainbow dress with custom polymer buttons:
And the heart buttons that we’re going to make today:
Items that you will need:
Premo polymer clay
Long razor blade
Work tile or wax paper
Rolling pin (acrylic roller or you can even use something like a can of soup to roll out the clay, I’ve done this in the past)
Oven
Baking sheet
Glaze
Paintbrush
Needle tool or toothpick for poking holes
Small, heart shaped cookie cutters, or you can cut it out freehand by using a razor.
Okay! Now the how-to!
I hope that you guys have lots of fun with this!
Oh, and extra shapes just give you the chance for extra-cute add-on projects. 😉

Great tutorial! Clay is a medium I haven’t worked with yet but it would be fun to try. 🙂
Thanks so much for posting Sarah! I can’t wait to try this technique out
Thanks for having me, Hayley! It was a lot of fun to do. 😀
