Yep, we succumbed to the peer pressure of all the other over- achieving parents and we bought the elf. The darn Elf on the Shelf. The elf that is requiring way too much thought and effort on a daily basis. From the beginning, we both agreed to set the bar fairly low so that the kids don’t come to expect too much from Kiki the Elf. She came on December 1st and the kids love finding her in the mornings.
Introducing: Creepy Kiki
Here is a brief recap of what Kiki has been up to during her visit at the Mouse House.
So, there you have it.
Kiki the under achieving elf.
How many of you do the Elf?

My family has an elf, too. Elfie is his name. He’s a vintage elf that used to be my Grandmothers – I’m still in the research process of how long ago this elf on the shelf phenomenon came to be. It seems to be something NEW, but my Grandma has had her elf for YEARS!!
No elf here, I feel like a party pooper seeing so many fun elf pictures.
We just started the Elf thing over the weekend. We got the plush one, because I didn’t want to pay $30 for the real thing with the book. I got sucked into it because my son’s teacher is doing it as well. Ours is also underachieving, his name is Peppermint.
Dawn, the book got published in 2005 but the author said that it’s her family’s traditon.
