For almost a year, Ainsley had been asking for a “Rainbow Party” when she turns 3 years old. Sure, sounds easy enough.
Two months before the scheduled party date, she throws me for a loop and says she wants a “Kitty Cat Party” too. Oh, okay. So, you want Kitty Cats AND Rainbows at your party?
Took me a while to come up with ideas, but I think it all worked out great and she was super pleased (most important!)
We had 26 kids (seriously!) and around 28 adults.
Wowzers!
Thank goodness the weather held out for the first 2 hours of the party and all of the kids (and adults) got to play outside.
Ready for lots of pictures?
Her entire outfit was made by me, except for the adorable rainbow hair clippies, which I purchased at this etsy shop
We made 26 kitty ears and 26 pairs of kitty paws for all the kids
Ainsley, all dressed up before her party started. Super excited!
Lots and lots of decorations and food
Sweets table |
Complete with kitty cupcakes |
And rainbow cupcakes, of course |
Lollipops |
And cute signs (all of the printables can be found HERE) |
Can’t forget the rainbow cake! |
So, basically a table full of food dye and sugar:) |
Let’s not forget about me cheesing it next to my sugary table |
With my mum |
And Garrett (anyone notice my awesome shirt? haha) |
The food was all placed in the kitchen
The decorations were all throughout the downstairs
I quickly made that rainbow balloon arch the morning of the party.
I would highly suggest making it the night before to save your sanity.
I made the “Pin the Tail on the Kitty” game the night before.
Again, I do not recommend leaving everything until the last minute. You might drive yourself crazy.
Then, the festivities began and it was a blast!
We handed out the kitty ears and paws and it was so incredibly adorable to see a bunch of little kids running around “meowing” and scratching the ground like little kitties 🙂
Double roller coaster races!
Even the adults joined in 🙂
Pinata!
Look at all of those kids!
So glad we rented that tent/canopy!
Lots of people hung out in the shade
Pin the Tail on the Kitty time!
Cake time! Look at that smile!
All of the kids said “Ooooh!” when I cut up the cake
Gifts!
She got an amazing amount of awesome stuff!
Trust me, I know. I had to clean up the aftermath
It was a very fantastic day and Ainsley thoroughly enjoyed it!
Thanks to all my amazing friends and family that made it a success!

I saw that you had linked to my site and came over to check it out. Wow! You did a fabulous job on everything and I was so excited to see my printables were able to be part of the party! I wanted to ask you if it would be okay for me to post about your party on my site? Also, I’d love to know how you made the rainbow arch, it looks great! Thanks so much!
WOW!!! You could def. be a party planner, what an amazing and beautiful party. That cake, wow! And, love the kitty ears and socks/paws. I could go on and on, but those are my absolute faves. Everyone is doing those dessert tables now! And, that rainbow balloon arch I bet was SO much fun to do right before the party, but its so perfect!
Party looks great! I’m planning a Carebear Theme for my daughter’s 1 yr birthday in November, may use a few of your ideas since Rainbows are big with Carebears! Love your blog and creativeness!
Rainbows and kitties…such a cute idea and very special that you were able to give her just what she wanted. So impressed with the rainbow cake and the rainbow balloon arch! I’m always scared to make cakes with so many layers because they turn out like the Leaning Tower of Pisa…haha
The party looks AMAZING and your little girl is adorable. My son just turned 3 too 🙂 I especially love the rainbow cake. I would love it if you would stop by and share at this week’s crafty link party at Lines Across.
I hope to see you soon, Rachel

You are an amazing mom! Love all the details and I totally bought that rainbow heart fabric on a whim. I don’t even know what I’m going to do with it, but your dress turned out mighty cute! I might just do that. Love the cute little kitty ears and paws. So fun!
Great ideas in here! Loved the balloon arch! My 3-year-old wants a rainbow party for her birthday in August, and I’m totally going to do that balloon arch!
Thanks for sharing this! You did an amazing job. Appreciate all the good ideas. My 3 year old daughter wants a kitty party so I’m trying to figure out what to do. Do you sell any if the items you made for this party? Thanks! Kat
