Can I just tell you how excited we are to be *almost* finished with this project??? Very!
Remember all of my tumultuous posts regarding my living room?
(cry me a river, right?)
Well, it has undergone quite a transformation in the past couple of months…. hardwood floors, new accessories,
and BUILT-IN CABINETS!
Can you give me a woot woot?
and BUILT-IN CABINETS!
Can you give me a woot woot?
I am going to give a sneak peek tonight.
I am not finished with everything, but I am far too excited right now. I must show you what I have been so busy working on!
I kind of just threw accessories on the shelves for now, but I plan to spend a few hours this week on styling.
My house is complete, now that I have a ceramic fish.
I will have plenty of details about how this was created, but can you believe that this entire project was under $100?
The original cabinets were a purchase from a yard sale site: $30
Here is the “before”:
Swoon! Can’t wait to finish the trim and the accessories!

WOW! What a great before/after! Those shelves look amazing. Glad you went with white, it goes perfect with that room.
Wow!! it looks wonderful!! I love it. was it 30 each or for both? if it was for both wow! what a deal 🙂
Amazing job, Sarah!! I love that it looks just like you pictured in your head! Sometimes it’s really hard to achieve that.
Can’t wait to see the chairs and coffee table all snug in there; just in time for some cozy winter reading.
I know you want to sell me those book cases? HA! I need to find some so I can build them in around my fireplace.
Great job! What an amazing transformation. Love it!
Beautiful! Have you shared how you achieved attaching those together?
thanks Katie! They are attached to the back wall with heavy duty anchors and then moulding around the entire piece. They aren’t technically attached together other than the moulding in between them. I hope that makes sense! (they don’t move because of all the screws into the walls, ha)
