Several months ago, we determined that an upstairs craft/sewing room wasn’t working, mainly because I was unable to use it once the kids went to bed (or napped!) because of the noise.
After much thought and discussion, we realized the best location for my studio would be a portion of the unfinished basement, which we eventually plan to finish off. (My old sewing/craft room is now a really cool play room for the kids…. pictures to come soon!)
In the meantime, my new basement sewing studio is a very gray, dull, and boring space with lots and lots of concrete and I need help!
Today, my awesome father and my lovely husband hung up bunches of peg board for me, which I will use to hang shelving and accessories (I am thinking lots of ribbon and other lovelies!) It is already starting to feel more like a “room” and not a cold, gray basement, but it still needs lots and lots of work.
My next plan is to drape white muslin from the ceiling to cover up the exposed beams. Please give me more suggestions! This mess is crazy and I don’t know where to start!!! (I can’t say it enough, but I am really looking forward to the day where we actually finish off the basement!)

Oh my
Holy Mother of…..
My poor fabrics are stored in bins right now
My papers and paraphenalia… What am I going to do to organize this mess?
Look at all of the shipping boxes underneath the table. I need help.

Take your time. Make lists of what each craft you do. Figure out how to keep them near each other. Research different desk/shelving options!!
Oh…and you can paint that peg board for some color?
That peg board is begging for some dowels/rods for ribbon!!!!
Oh, I can so relate!!! Have fun and take your time. Everything WILL find a home. THanks for the summer pictures…made me smile!
