Sometimes children say the funniest things unintentionally and all parents should write those things down, so that it can be used as blackmail one day.
The following two stories are examples of such blackmail:
* One of Ethan’s favorite activities is talking about colors. Every color in the room. The color of the apple. The color of the floor. The color of his pants. On and on and on. He also seems to have a certain affinity towards the color gray. He likes to point out everything that happens to be gray, except his version of the word gray sounds just like “GAY”. Hilarious. So, me being the mature mother I am, have thoroughly encouraged my child to talk about the color gray. The best part of the entire scenario is that Garrett happens to own a ridiculous amount of gray-colored clothing. OF COURSE, I make sure to point this out to Ethan. “Ethan, what is Daddy wearing right now?”, says Mommy. “Daddy is GAY”, says Ethan. or even better…. “GAY Daddy. GAY Daddy”. Perfect way to remind Garrett that he needs to go clothes shopping.
*Ethan loves to clap, especially to praise himself. He lacks no self-confidence, that’s for sure. Once again, Ethan doesn’t quite pronounce the word clap correctly…. instead, it comes out like “Crap”. Hilarious yet again! So, what do I do? Encourage Ethan to talk about Daddy clapping, of course!!! “Ethan,” Mommy says, “Daddy is clapping!” Ethan promptly follows with, “Daddy crapping! Daddy craps!” Hilarity ensues, especially on my end of the conversation.
Yes, I should win the Mother of the Year Award.
