When I was invited to the Snowflakes and Lace Series hosted by Sewing Mama RaeAnna and sewVery, I knew exactly which fabric I wanted to use. Okay, okay… it isn’t true lace, but man, I love eyelet and I have been itching for an excuse to use it again! I guess you can call me a Snowflakes and Lace rebel?
Eyelet counts as lace, right? Right?
This is the rough draft of my soon-to-be tested and released pattern, The Lillian Pintucked Top and Dress. I am so excited about this one because it is just so classic. The pintucks are so lovely.
I felt that it was the perfect pattern with the eyelet.
Look closely and you will see that I wove golden roping through the eyelet holes on the sleeves for extra fun. Ainsley told me that it was “fabulous”, so I guess I did something right.
Golden buttons, golden roping, white eyelet dress, sparkly golden shoes, giant flower in her hair…
she was in girly paradise.
I am not going to lie… we have had some ridiculously cold weather around here. Like, really, really cold. Today, was the first semi “warm” day, above 20 degrees, so I bribed her with a fuzzy blanket… and then I yanked it away for the photos. Ha.
Just kidding, people. She was fine and dandy.
She called those golden beads her “lasso” and she was as happy as could be. I love outdoor shots.
Here is a better shot of the dress with the golden buttons.
I hope that the eyelet is “lace enough”?
I certainly adore eyelet, so I hope you do too!
Stay tuned for the release of the Lillian Pintucked Top and Dress. It is going to be so classic and timeless.
