love it hayley!!! I can’t wait to make mine! The rounded front will be perfect for wearing it over dresses or tunics and tights 🙂
I’ve been wanting this since you first showed it!! SOO excited it’s finally out and have already purchased!! now the hard part.. fabric.. 😉
Love the pattern! But I don’t sew a lot for myself. Maybe I should make an exception!! M
What’s the effect of using the double-over pieces on the collar? I have a loose sweater knit that has a see-through quality. Would doubling the collar be too much? I like a little bit of firmness to the collar and not too drapey/droopy.
Thanks for any advice!
Super cute, looks easy & comfy!
Can you tell me how much fabric I would need to make the small cardigan with long sleeves if the knit only comes in a 45″ width? I am thinking of ordering after seeing the lovely version on Hawthorne Threads!
Hi Amy. The pattern recommendation is for 58″, so for 45″, I would recommend buying an additional yard just to make sure.
Hi, I’m very interested in making this cartigan, but haven’t sewn on knits for ages. Anything special required or will my everyday sewing supplies/machine do the thrick. Does the pattern include any pointers, etc. I want this to succeed. I love it soooo much and want to make some for gifts, as well.
Hi Terri! I’m so glad you like the cardigan! I don’t recommend anything special except for ballpoint needles (a twin needle is optional 🙂 ).
I love it, that was a lovely cardigans. Thanks for sharing ! You also shop at White and Warren for more women’s cardigans and etch.
Very cute, Im gonna bother my mom for one 😀
Nicely drafted pattern and great directions. I did however have a little trouble since there was no indication of where to lengthen or shorten the pattern if needed. I created my own line on the front and back bodice pieces by making a horizontal line across the most narrow portion. However, first time I made the cardigan, I forgot to lengthen the collar piece. Turns out that makes for a very odd fit. I ended up redrafting the collar piece. I tried to match up the notches on the collar to the front piece in order to create a corresponding lengthen/shorten line. So if you lengthen or shorten something, make sure you adjust the collar piece as well as the front and back piece (and sleeves, of course). It would be great if future versions of the pattern had a lengthen/shorten line. Other than that, this was a very easy pattern. I can’t wait to make more Julia Cardigans!
My apologies! I didn’t realize that it wasn’t included in the pattern. I do have the lengthen/shorten lines avail and I will be sure to update that!
This looks so beautiful wanna direct me to where I can get the pattern from?
It is available in my shop https://www.welcometothemousehouse.com/shop
