Have you heard the news yet? Project Run and Play is now selling patterns that were used in various seasons of PRP! How fun is that? (My Janie Dress and Peplum and my Sydney Romper and Pinafore is over there too!) Check out their shop HERE. In order to promote the new shop, several of us are sewing up the patterns and blogging about them. Each week, they will have a no code needed 20% off sale, as well. Plus a super cool giveaway (check out the bottom of my post)! I chose to sew up the Susie Halter Top and Shorts by ModKid.
Ainsley loves halter tops in the summer, so this was an easy choice for me! Plus, she got to pick out the cute fabrics and enjoyed blueberry picking for photos.
Ainsley is getting tall and skinny. I made the size 8 top and size 6 shorts since her waist is still a size 5/6. The shorts are originally designed with pockets and multiple panels. I wanted a pair of simpler shorts, so I simply made the fronts plain and no pockets. The size 6 waist was perfect for her.
The halter top will need a few adjustments next time I make it. It tends to buckle out and I had to keep telling Ainsley to fix it for photos. I am going to try a different shaped curve next time. The length of the straps and the bodice were perfect.
You can see here how it buckles out while she is sneaking a blueberry. Not everyone will have this fit issue, though. Let me know if you made this and how it went!
The back of this is just so adorable! It is a little large on her, but that is good because she will have it for next year. Girlfriend already has way too many clothes!
Brother made an appearance!
This is a super cute and simple outfit that she got many compliments on!
